One of the interesting things about the FPC Bible study groups is they are member-organized, and offered to the entire community (not just members). There are several groups, so there is probably a group that will suit your needs:

Men's Bible Study

The Men’s Bible Study is open to all in the community – in fact all are invited! Except for a summer vacation, the group meets each Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm at FPC. It is informal, so come as you are. Everyone is welcome no matter where you are in your Bible knowledge or faith journey.

The study is Scripture-based, including both the Old and New Testaments, and examines the Bible as the story of God’s plan of salvation for mankind. The group also looks at our place in God’s story, and what God’s story means for us, in today’s world.  The group considers the Scriptures’ historical and cultural context as a help in understanding the texts original meaning.

Ladies' Bible Study

The Ladies’ Bible Study groups at FPC include over 40 women from 6 different churches in the area, as well as women currently searching in their faith journey. The winter, spring, and fall sessions focus on a different topic and vary in length. There are two groups:

  • Monday evenings from 5:15 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (except during summer vacation)
  • Tuesday mornings from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (9:00 coffee & fellowship) (except during summer vacation)

The study groups use a Bible-based, DVD curriculum, by Bible scholars such as Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, Kay Arthur and Jessica LaGrone. There is usually a small amount of homework associated with each study. During our weekly time together, we share joys & concerns, have homework discussions in small groups and come together as one group to view the DVD. For more information or if you are interested in signing up, please call the church office.

Sunday Bible Study

The adult Sunday study group uses a video presentation by current, well known authors. After this presentation, the group engages in lively discussion. Youth normally follow a lectionary-based curriculum. They occasionally use videos as a springboard for discussion of current topics of interest.  We also have Sunday school for children who are 5th grade and below.

Sunday groups meet at 9:15 a.m. at the church, and adjourn in time for Worship.
